About the Conference
NSU's annual international business conference, established in 1994, is targeted to global thought leaders in international management, marketing, economics, finance and other international issues. It's designed to encourage sharing and discussion of ideas that strengthen a spirit of global cooperation and collaboration.
The conference is hosted by the Northern State University Center of Excellence in International Business and Entrepreneurship.
The 21st annual conference will be Oct. 8-10, 2014, at the Alex Johnson Hotel
, Rapid City, S.D.
Submission deadline - July 1, 2014
Notification to author – Two weeks following submission
Registration for presenters – July 15, 2014
Registration for non-presenters – September 1, 2014
Final paper submission - TBA
The Historic Alex Johnson Hotel will offer a discounted rate of $79 per night for conference participants.
2013 Conference Recap
Thank you to everyone who joined us for The 20th annual South Dakota Conference on International Business and Contemporary Issues in Business in 2013!
The conference was held Sept. 25-28 at The Holiday Inn in Rapid City, S.D.
The conference began Wednesday with dinner and a speech on business opportunities in Saudi Arabia from Edward Burton, president and CEO of the U.S. Saudi-Arabian Business Council.
Presentations began Thursday morning and continued through Friday afternoon. Thursday at lunch, Dr. Sid Goss of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology provided an overview of demographics in South Dakota. Evening speaker Judd Guthmiller of Daktronics Inc., shared information and videos showcasing Daktronics' electronics displays.
Two Northern State University students, Mykenzie Spaulding and Joe Klipfel (a recent NSU graduate), presented to packed rooms Friday.
Saturday was filled with cultural excursions throughout the Black Hills – attendees just barely squeezed in a visit to Mount Rushmore before the government shutdown and gigantic snowstorm occurred!
