As one of the founding master teachers at the 2001 opening of the NSU E-learning center in Aberdeen, Joanna Goetz (Señora Goetz) has been helping the best and brightest students of the state of South Dakota acquire Spanish language skills and an awareness of culture. The multi-cultural, blended and digital world in which students will live, thrive and lead further motivates the need for an understanding and appreciation of other cultures and languages.
Señora Goetz’s instructional experience includes the face-to-face classroom, live digital interaction and an asynchronous online environment. Furthermore, it covers students of all ages from middle school through university. Throughout the years, Sra. has witnessed the huge steps that the role of technology has played in the ever-changing field of education. The E-learning center further helps to "touch" these students who cannot receive college-preparatory or advanced placement classes. South Dakota is blessed with honest, intelligent, deserving and hard-working youth who, by seeking the opportunities, can achieve great things.
In her spare time, Señora Goetz enjoys spending time with her family (husband - Dan and children - Ethan, Olivia and Gabriel), watching sporting events, traveling, reading, playing the piano and listening to all kinds of music.
