ST. PAUL, Minn. - Northern State quarterback Eric Ellingson tied a Northern State single game record with six touchdown passes in a 55-35 win over Upper Iowa on Saturday afternoon. In addition, Ellingson ran for two touchdowns, setting his game touchdown mark at eight. For his performance, he has been named Northern Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Full Story

Northern Puts On Show In Home Finale

ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Wolves pulled out the stops in their final 2007 Swisher Field appearance, posting eight touchdowns with 506 yards of offense in a 55-35 win over Upper Iowa. The defense recovered four UIU fumbles while the NSU rushing game marked a season high 214 yards of offense. The Wolves will play their final game of the season next weekend at the NSIC Metrodome Classic against the University of Mary. Full Story

ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Northern State football team has set a date for its annual NCAA Football Take A Kid to the Game day for Saturday, November 3, where the Wolves will host Upper Iowa University at 1:00 pm at Swisher Field. Area youth 15 and under are invited to attend this special even and receive a free ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket. Youth will have the opportunity to experience the college game-day atmosphere and some exciting action as they watch the Wolves compete for a win over the Peacocks. Full Release
Preciado Preserves Win, Named Player of the Week

PAUL, Minn. - Northern State linebacker Mike Preciado had a game-saving play in the final seconds of the Wolves' 21-20 win over MSU Moorhead last week and has been NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week. Wolves Pull Off Comeback Win Over Dragons

ABERDEEN, S.D. - There were huge shifts in momentum for the Northern State football team late in the game against MSU Moorhead on Saturday afternoon. The lead in the game changed three times before the Wolves' special teams blocked a Dragons field goal and recovered the ball as the game clock expired and Northern earned the 21-20 win. Full Story
Parrott Shines On Special Teams

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Northern State kicker Thomas Parrott has been named NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate office. Parrott was responsible for ten of NSU's 52 points in the Wolves' 52-9 win against Minnesota, Crookston on Saturday. Parrott connected of 7-of-7 PAT attempts and hit a 23-yard field goal. The Wolves are 3-5 overall and are tied for fourth in the NSIC with a 3-3 mark. They host MSU Moorhead in the 2007 Shrine Game this Saturday at 2:30 pm. Full Release

An Offensive Spectacular In Eagles Slaughter

CROOKSTON, Minn. - The Northern State football team posted a season high seven touchdowns in a 52-9 slaughter of the Golden Eagles of Minnesota, Crookston Saturday afternoon. The Wolves scored in each quarter and had 640 yards of offense while holding UMC to 185 total yards. The Wolves improve to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the NSIC while UMC falls to 1-6 overall and 0-6 NSIC. Wildcats Nip Wolves For 26-24 Win

ABERDEEN, S.D. - A fourth quarter safety was the difference in a tight Gypsy Days game that resulted in a 26-24 win for Wayne State College Saturday afternoon in front of 5,390 fans. The teams battled for the decision all game, but the Wildcats defense held the Wolves to less than 200 yards of offense to separate themselves in league standings, improving to 3-3 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC. Northern is now 2-4 overall and 2-2 in the NSIC. Full Story

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Northern State Wolves (2-3, 2-1) dropped their first game in the NSIC this weekend, losing to Bemidji State (4-1, 3-0) 35-7. The Wolves' defense hung tough and forced only field goal attempts when BSU reached the red zone early on, but the Beavers continued to push and took the game 35-7. Full Story

Offense Thrives In Win Over Mustangs

MARSHALL, Minn. - The levy that had been holding back the Northern State football team (2-2, 2-0) from scoring finally broke in Saturday's road game against Southwest Minnesota State (1-3, 1-1 NSIC) as the Wolves scored four touchdowns in a 31-27 win. The win is the 16th straight for NSU over the Mustangs and the second straight NSU win of the season. Full Story

ABERDEEN, S.D.. - A 30-yard Brian Jark pass reception and the scrambling work of NSU quarterback Eric Ellingson gave the Wolves (1-2, 1-0 NSIC) their first win of the season, a 15-9 NSIC win over Concordia-St. Paul (1-2, 0-1 NSIC). The Wolves made their move in the final three minutes of the game to take back the lead. NSU heads to Marshall, Minn. for continued NSIC action next Saturday, with the game time slated for 1:00 pm. ABERDEEN, S.D.. - The Augustana Vikings overcame a 14-16 halftime deficit to take a 37-16 win over the Northern State football team Saturday evening at Swisher Field. The Wolves scored two touchdowns in the first half after picking off an interception and recovering an AC fumble. With the loss, NSU falls to 0-2 on the season before entering NSIC play.
