Center for Excellence in International Business

Welcome to the Center for Excellence in International Business (CEIB) at Northern State University!
Since 1991, the CEIB has aimed to expand and promote the knowledge and practice of international business and entrepreneurship to inspire and enable students to think globally in three ways:
  1. Academic programs: The international business major or minor and the entrepreneurship minor
  2. Exposure to world-class entrepreneurs and business men and women through regional conferences, experiences, and opportunities
  3. Opportunities for students and faculty to present their ideas and research at our International Business Conference, Global Entrepreneurship Week, or the many other events CEIBE hosts

CEIB is accredited by the Network of International Business Schools (NIBS); accreditation is pending from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Career Opportunities

CEIB has graduates from the international business program in the following areas: agriculture, airlines, banking and finance, consulting, customs brokerage, education and training, entrepreneurship, government and U.S. Customs, hotel management, human resources, import and export administration, insurance, international sales, marketing, international law, interpretation and translation, manufacturing, purchasing, trade associations and travel agencies.

Get Involved

In addition to the academic programs at NSU, any student on campus can get involved in our activities: International Business Conference is an academic conference held in Rapid City, S.D., for faculty and students to present their research on contemporary issues in business and teaching business.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is celebrated internationally, and at Northern State University in November. CEIB hosts an entire week of events. Highlights include the Business Idea Pitch Competition and a business mocktail reception with students and local business owners.
