The opening reception for Michaela Schlecht’s senior art exhibition will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in Northern State University’s Beulah Williams Library. Schlecht’s exhibition will be on display Dec. 1-16. It includes photographs, digital art, cyanotypes and video. A multimedia design major, she has studied with Keum Taek Jung, Sara Christensen Blair, Greg Blair and Nadya Preszler at NSU.

This play is about the most famous performance-art piece in history. In protest of the illegal 2012 presidential election, Pussy Riot – an anonymous Russian feminist protest punk rock group – staged a performance inside Moscow’s Christ the Savior Church. Their 48-second “Punk Prayer” and the viral video of that performance put them in the public eye. The Kremlin responded by hunting down and arresting three members of the group.
