Northern uses Clean Access to increase network security on campus. Clean Access will contain "infected" systems to keep other, vulnerable systems from becoming infected. The goal is to provide a more reliable, consistent, and safe networking environment for the entire university.
Preparing for Network Access
1. Clean Access requires all security and critical Windows updates to be installed. Keeping current on updates and keeping spam off your computer will greatly decrease the amount of time and effort it takes to get your computer authenticated on the Northern network.
2. Make sure you have a valid updated antivirus subscription. Here is a list of valid antivirus programs
that are supported within Clean Access.
