NS​U music department to hold community concert
ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s music department will hold a fall NSU and Community Concert Band performance at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in the NSU Johnson Fine Arts Center.
The concert will feature NSU ensembles and musicians from Aberdeen and surrounding communities.
The concert will feature “Silent Samba” arranged by Chris Brooks and “What Child Is This” arranged by John R. Hernes, both performed by the NSU percussion ensemble.
Other arrangements featured include “Scotland!” (A Heritage in Song) arranged by Jack Bullock; “Satiric Dances” by Norman Dello Joio; “Shenandoah” by Frank Ticheli; and “The Klaxon” by Henry Fillmore, edited by Frederick Fennell. Each arrangement will be performed by the NSU Maroon Saxophone Quartet, the woodwind quartet and the Community Concert Band.

The Community Concert Band is made up of NSU students and people from Aberdeen, Huron, Groton, Britton, Faulkton, Watertown and Mitchell.
The concert is open to the public and free of charge.
