ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University senior design majors Lindsey
Fluharty and Aleya Ward will be present at an exhibit their work from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 6 in the Student Center.
The exhibit will run from Nov. 6-15. It will be open to the public and is free of charge.
Fluharty is the daughter of Tom and Kristi Fluharty from Prior Lake, Minn. She enjoys the smaller campus of NSU, where she could try many different things, such as playing with the band Kansas when it performed at the Johnson Fine Arts Center with the NSU Symphonic Band in April. She also enjoyed the opportunity to work closely with NSU professor of graphic design Sara Christensen Blair.
Fluharty, who is an advertising design major, enjoys designing corporate identities, magazine layouts, packaging and book covers using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Fluharty hopes to work for an advertising agency in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
Ward is the daughter of Al and Joye Ward, and is a graduate of Central High School
Ward enjoys her time as a multimedia design major, working and joking around with professors of art and design Keum-Taek Jung, Greg Blair, Sara Christensen Blair and Nadya Preszler. Ward said she enjoys photography and ad, web, video and motion design.
Ward hopes to own her own design business someday. For now, she plans to do freelance work and travel through Europe.
