‘The Artist as Entrepreneur’ topic of Nov. 12 Business Connections at NSU

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Composer and entrepreneur Michael Schelle
is the featured speaker at the November Business Connections at Northern State University.
 
Schelle’s presentation, titled “The Artist as Entrepreneur,” will be 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, in the NSU Student Center Centennial rooms. The event is free and open to the public.

Schelle has spent the last 30 years as composer in residence and founder/director of the Composers Orchestra at Butler University in Indianapolis. Schelle's music has been commissioned and/or performed by more than 300 orchestras, symphonic bands and professional chamber ensembles across the U.S. and abroad. He has received composition prizes, grants and awards from more than 30 prestigious national arts organizations. Schelle has been a finalist for the International Humour in Poetry Competition (Paris). He is also a published author and restaurant critic.
 
Schelle's music will be featured in the NSU Band Clinic concert on Nov. 13 and the Aberdeen University/Civic Symphony concert on Nov. 16.

NSU’s Business Connections events provide an opportunity for the student and business communities to interact and discuss a diverse range of business issues. Events, which continue monthly throughout the academic year, are sponsored by the School of Business and Center for Entrepreneurship and International Business.
