ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University has again been recognized for its service to student veterans and students in the military.
NSU has been designated a 2018 Military Friendly School by Victory Media, an honor the university has received many of the past several years.
Now in its 16th year, the Military Friendly® Schools list provides a comprehensive guide for veterans and their families using data sources from federal agencies, veteran students and proprietary survey information from participating organizations.
At NSU, student veterans and students currently serving in the military can receive assistance with issues such as receiving educational benefits, tutoring, getting a copy of class schedules or getting a copy of military transcripts.
“At Northern, we really try to do our best for veterans at the personal level,” said NSU Veterans Affairs Certifying Official Carlee Miller. “We are honored to have this distinction awarded to us again and are always looking for ways to improve our service to those who have served our country.”
Other resources include the NSU Student Veteran Resource Center, located in Student Center 206, which provides free printing, a scanner to upload tuition assistance documents, computers, a television and a study room. For more information, visit the NSU Veterans and Active Military webpage.
