ABERDEEN, S.D. – A satellite studio for South Dakota Public Broadcasting (SDPB) opened at Northern State University on Friday, September 14.

The satellite studio will allow SDPB local producers to interview campus staff, community leaders, state legislators or anyone who has a story to tell.

The studio also includes a digital recorder that will allow students, faculty and community members to come in and record podcasts or interviews, which can be easily edited and transferred to USB flash drives.

Connected through the campus network to the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, the studio may be used as backup studio as the means for emergency management communication in the event of a disaster at another studio.

The satellite studio was created through a gracious donation from Tom and Danielle Aman of Aberdeen and is located in the basement of the Technology Center.

For more information about the NSU SDPB satellite studio, please contact Debbi Bumpous, Vice President for technology/chief information officer, at Debbi.Bumpous@northern.edu.
