ABERDEEN, S.D. – Joni Willoughby and Paul Fellbaum will hold a senior recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22, in the Northern State University Krikac Auditorium.

Willoughby, the daughter of Jeff and Julie Willoughby of Midland, graduated from T.F. Riggs High School in 2015.Fellbaum, the son of Dale and Alice Fellbaum of Spearfish, graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 2011.

Willoughby, a music education major, is a mezzo-soprano and plays the bass clarinet. She will perform “Et Exultavit Spiritus Meus” by J.S. Bach; “Les Berceaux,” “Ici-Bas!,” and “Les Roses d'Ispahan” by Faure; “Fußreise,” “Verbogenheit,” and “Der Gärtner” by Wolf; “The Woodcutter's Song,” “Hands, Eyes, and Heart,” and “Silent Noon” by Vaughan Williams; and “Black for Two Bass Clarinets” by Mellits. She will be accompanied by Kay Fischer.

Fellbaum, a music education major, plays the trumpet. He will perform “Prayer of Saint Gregory” by Alan Hovhaness; “Sonate” by Jean Hubeau; and “Concerto” by Alexander Artunian.

Willoughby has studied under Drs. Darci Bultema and Audrey Miller during her time at NSU. She will graduate from NSU in May 2019. She hopes to teach music after she graduates.

Fellbaum has studied under Dr. Grant Manhart during his time at NSU. He will graduate from NSU in December. After graduation, he hopes to travel to the West Coast for music opportunities.
