The Student Alumni Association is the student chapter of the NSU Alumni Association. We work to promote NSU, inspire student leadership, and form a connection between NSU alumni and current students. Our slogan is "Student Today, Alum Forever."
The Student Alumni Association plans and hosts events and activities to create a relationship between NSU students and introduce our alumni to current student leaders on campus. We are responsible for many of NSU’s premier events: Alumni/Student Tailgates, Thunder Birthday Bash, Senior BBQ, I Hate Winter Events and Move In Day.

Student Association
President: Kelsey Luckhurst
Advisor: Matt Scott
The Student Association is responsible for helping allocate student funds. Each semester, Northern students pay a general activity fund (GAF). Members of the Student Association help determine which programs receive this money.
The Student Association also sponsors events with other schools around the state. One of these events, known as SHED (Students For Higher Education) days, is held each year to help students from around the state work with South Dakota Legislature. Students are then able voice their opinions to the Legislature on current bills which would impact higher education in the state of South Dakota.
The Northern State University Student Association welcomes all Northern students. If you have any concerns about or compliments for our school, feel free to let us know. Our purpose is to help the students with whatever cares or concerns they have here at Northern.
If you enjoy student government and think that Student Association is something you would be interested in, then you can join. We elect a president, vice president and senators every March for the following school year.
