NSU Hosting American Legion Cording Ceremony
On May 3, 2023, from 6-7 p.m., Northern Military Veteran Affairs will host the American Legion Cording Ceremony for graduating Service Members and Veterans. The Aberdeen American Legion Post presents a red, white, and blue cord to graduates honoring and celebrating dedicated service to the U.S. and Aberdeen citizens. The ceremony will honor our past-present-future service members from Northern, Presentation College and several high schools in Aberdeen and the surrounding areas. Students wear the cords at commencement. The program is open to family, friends and the Aberdeen community. It is located in the lobby of Jewett Science Center, at the corner of 12th Avenue Southeast and South State Street.
Summer Tech Startup Incubator Program
Thunder Labs at NSU will host a four-week Summer Tech Startup Incubator Program beginning this Thursday, May 4. The program will be held weekly through Thursday, May 25, from 6-8:30 p.m. The program is open to northeast South Dakota entrepreneurs who are building a tech or tech-enabled business. Interested entrepreneurs may apply online at this link.
NSU Spring Commencement
The NSU Spring Commencement ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, in the Barnett Center. Alumna Nichole Bowman, a teacher at T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre and winner of a 2022 Milken Educator Award, will deliver the commencement address.
