I received my B.B.A. in business administration from Iowa State University and my M.A. in English from University of Central Missouri. As a military spouse, I lived across the U.S., Germany, and Japan, and encourage others to explore and experience the amazing world around them. I thoroughly enjoy helping students discover and plan for their futures: to see them grow into confident, always-learning Wolves!

Theresa M. Giannavola joined Northern's faculty in fall 2018.
My research focuses on Hyflex teaching pedagogies and increasing engagement with online students. I am also interested in studies regarding an individual’s gratitude influence on psychological capital, satisfaction with life, and intent to stay within their current organization.

Dr. Amber Henderson joined Northern in the fall of 2015.

I am the academic advisor for health and physical education and psychology and business administration at Northern. Since 2015, I have greatly enjoyed working with Northern students. Before moving to South Dakota, I worked and lived in Minnesota, Illinois, Wyoming, South Korea, and Wisconsin. I graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Eureka College (Illinois) and a master's of science in counseling (K-12 and higher education) from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Dr. Shannahan joined the School of Business faculty in fall 2020.
Dr. Shannahan studies problem-solving and decision-making processes among the members of groups and teams in organizations. In particular, his research focuses on the factors that lead groups to be successful in recognizing and utilizing the skills, knowledge, and abilities of their members and the consequences that can result when managers and their employees have conflicting understandings of work tasks and the standards by which they will evaluated.

Dr. Sal Villegas joined Northern in the fall of 2020. Before teaching, he spent the nearly two decades in the finance and banking industries, where he managed multi-million dollar portfolios, dozens of employees, and thousands of clients.
