Dr. Nuurrianti Jalli is an assistant professor of communication studies at Northern State University in South Dakota. She is also currently the academic coordinator for public relations minor in the department of English, Communication, and Global Languages.
 
Originally from Malaysia, she received her Ph.D. in mass communication from Ohio University. Her research areas range from information disorders, media information literacy, to media and democracy in Southeast Asia. She also served as a resource person for multiple agencies, including the United Nations, Brookings Institutions, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, and DoubleThink Lab, among others.
 
She also served as a communication consultant and adviser for multiple Malaysian government agencies, including the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC), Community Communication Department, Prime Minister Department, and Sarawak State Government.

Research Interests
Dr. Jalli's primary research interests include media and democracy, social media, information disorder, and information warfare in Southeast Asia.
