A management degree from Northern will prepare you to lead, problem-solve, plan, evaluate, advise, and organize within the dynamic profession of business management.

 

Northern offers four management emphases to help you achieve your personal career goals:

Entrepreneurship

In this emphasis, you’ll learn business plan writing and product/service development, and encounter innovation opportunities. Courses include Small Business Management, Sustainability in Business, and Entrepreneurship II.

Leadership

This emphasis unlocks your leadership potential, building your leadership skills through hands-on activities. Courses include Supervisory Management, Organizational Development, and Diversity in Management.

General Management

This emphasis prepares you for a variety of managerial roles, allowing you to select courses that best meet your career aspirations. Courses include Small Business Management, Sustainability in Business, Entrepreneurship II, Supervisory Management, Organizational Development, Diversity in Management, and Project Management.

Supply Chain Analytics

This emphasis provides you with the skills needed for a variety of industries. Courses include Logistics, Operations Research, Production/Operations Management, Analytics and Project Management.

A Northern management graduate will understand human values and motivations, know modern management methodologies, and be aware of the impact of economic and business policy on society.  In this degree program, offered online and on campus, you’ll learn to value diversity and human relations to better understand the workforce of today and tomorrow.

Careers 

Careers in management are as diverse – every organization has management roles. A degree in management opens the doors to positions throughout business, government, and industry. You’ll find career opportunities in the form of leadership roles and with government firms, for-profit businesses, professional firms, not-for-profit organizations, and graduate work.

At NSU, students are counseled by advisers and instructors on potential career paths, as well as internship and post-graduation employment opportunities.

Internships 

NSU's International Business program supports career readiness through internships that give you a chance to apply your skills in the workplace. NSU students have interned in diverse areas of business, including administration, programming, banking, marketing and accounting. 

The NSU School of Business shares internship opportunities through postings and on-campus presentations and interviews.

 

Scholarships 

NSU students pursuing a business administration degree can apply for NSU School of Business scholarships and other scholarships.
