Dr. Michelle Metzinger has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, since 2017. In this role, she has provided senior academic leadership by overseeing six academic divisions offering more than 40 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees; supervising key academic support units; managing extension campuses and online delivery; advancing new academic program development; and serving as accreditation liaison officer with extensive experience across regional and specialized accrediting bodies. She actively engages community partners, alumni, and donors to promote the university while supporting research and grant initiatives, evaluating academic effectiveness and financial sustainability, and ensuring the timely resolution of student, faculty, and staff concerns. Prior to joining the University of Saint Mary, Dr. Metzinger spent 18 years in academic leadership at Presentation College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She holds a Ph.D. in higher education leadership from Capella University, an M.A. in teaching, and a B.S. in business education from Northern State University.
