Unleash Your Potential. Lead the Pack.

If you have the drive to excel academically and connect socially, you'll find a home in the NSU Honors Program.

The Honors Program provides academically talented and highly motivated students opportunities to excel in the classroom, gain skills to lead recognized student organizations on campus, and conduct undergraduate research.

In the classroom, you'll take honors-only general education classes taught by an outstanding group of faculty members or contract upper-level courses with faculty in your major. Outside the classroom, you'll be surrounded by a supportive network that encourages you to reach your full potential.

Think about the advantages of Honors:

  • Receive specialized academic and career advising from the Honors director
  • Live in Honors learning community in Great Plains East residence hall
  • Relax or study in the Honors Lounge in the Student Center
  • Present undergraduate research at national and regional Honors conferences
  • Attend and plan honors social events
  • Network on campus and in the Aberdeen community
  • Experience study abroad
  • Explore internship opportunities

If you have an ACT score of 28 or higher or an ACT score of 24-27 with a GPA of 3.75 or higher, you can reserve your place in Northern's Honors Program.
