Welcome to the NSU Math Clinic!
Northern State University's Math Clinic is a free, after-school tutoring program that focuses on improving K-8 students’ understanding of mathematics concepts and enhancing pre-service teachers' content knowledge and pedagogical skills.
Clinic sessions are offered during the fall and spring semesters. Each K-8 student is paired with an NSU elementary/special education major who guides the student through 14 mathematics lessons. All clinic sessions are supervised by the NSU Math Clinic Director. The clinic currently offers a unit on fractions, which is most appropriate for students in grades 5-8. Concepts addressed in the clinic sessions include:
