Ronald Brownie Banner Project Update web graphic

In fall 2017, the Board of Regents began the process of transitioning from the current student information system (SIS), Colleague/Datatel, to Banner SIS. The transition project was titled Banner Student Project (BSP). The Banner SIS has multiple modules and each BOR campus identified one individual for each Banner module to actively participate in the transition process.

In January 2018, the Banner modules began regularly scheduled meetings to develop the coding structure for many Banner validation and rule tables, ensuring standardized data entry.

The first Banner module to go live will be the general person module on Monday, Oct. 15, with the remaining modules scheduled to go live over the next 10 months. The financial aid module will go live on Nov. 1; the admissions module will go live on Jan. 22, 2019.

Over the next 10 months, department staff will need to be available for operational training sessions with short notice. The International Studies and Health Services (immunization records) will receive training on Friday, Oct. 12, and department staff responsible for building course sections will receive training Tuesday-Thursday, Oct. 16-18. Some data will require dual entry in both Colleague and Banner for several months. The data entered in Colleague will verify and validate the Banner data entry.

NSU Banner Student Project team members are Ronald Brownie, Peggy Hallstrom, Kay Fredrick, Jeanne Tople, Jessica Beilke, Judy Lapka, Laura Mount, Virginia Shanley, Becky Wirkus, Madia Droppers, Sharon Kienow, Becky Pribyl, Brenda Mammenga, Shelley Coats, Debbi Bumpous, Susan Bostian, Marty Sabolo, Darla Scarlett, Terri Holmes and Steven Nemmers.
