NSU Facilities Manager Monte Mehlhoff has issued a campus construction update that includes two new projects.

Heating Plant flat roof

On about May 15, the heating plant's flat roof portion is set to be replaced with an energy-efficient synthetic rubber roofing product known as EPDM.

Krikac and north campus pillars

The following projects are planned between May 15 and Aug. 16:

  • Tuck pointing (repair of mortar between bricks) and concrete step replacement at Krikac
  • Concrete step and entrance replacement at Krikac
  • Tuck pointing of main north campus pillars  

 

Regional Science Education Center

  • Floor polishing is under way on second floor south.
  • Masons are laying brick on the south wall of the south wing and erecting scaffolding at the north wing.
  • The spray foam contractor is installing membrane and foam on the south wall of the north wing.
  • Workers are framing the south canopy of the north wing and the terrace.
  • Workers are hanging sheetrock on second floor north.
  • Elevator installation and lobby stair iron work continue.
  • Plumbers are working on overhead piping and mechanical plumbing.
  • Electricians are doing rough-ins and pulling wire on first and second floors south.
  • Installation of spiral ductwork and VAVs continues on second floor south.
  • Painters are priming walls, overhead ducts and piping on both south levels.
  • The controls contractor is working on second floor south.
