NSU Facilities Manager Monte Mehlhoff's campus construction update includes Barnett Center changes and Krikac brick and concrete work.

Barnett Center

The old Barnett Center basketball court has been removed, and concrete demolition in the arena for the new wooden basketball court will begin May 13.

Krikac Administration Building

The Krikac tuck pointing and concrete restoration project is set to begin May 10.

Regional Science Center

• Storm sewer piping is complete.

• Exterior site preparation continues.

• Concrete for the seat wall south of the greenhouse is in place, and brick work for east side seat walls has begun.

• Main column brick work is nearly complete, with only caps remaining.

• North wing exterior window installation continues.

• Exterior soffit framing is complete.

• South canopy linear metal ceiling grid installation has begun.

• Terrace roof installation and upper roof work are under way.

• Sheet rocking and taping and anatomy area ceiling framing continues in the north wing.

• Painting is ongoing throughout the building.

• Second-floor restroom tile work continues.

• Plumbers are installing heating lines, radiant panels and piping to VAVs, and are working on piping and equipment in the second floor mechanical room.

• The HVAC contractor is installing ductwork on first floor north and south; diffusers on second floor south;and ductwork in the second-floor mechanical room.

• Pipe and duct insulation continues throughout the building.

• Electricians are still pulling wire; installing lights in the south wing; and doing rough-ins in the north wing.

• Control contractors continue work throughout the building.

• North wing sprinkler piping is ongoing.

• Floor polishing is complete in the north wing and nearly complete in the lobby.
