NSU Facilities Manager Monte Mehlhoff's campus construction update highlights progress on the Regional Science Education Center.

Regional Science Education Center

Plumbers continue rough-ins on the second floor's south wing and have begun testing.

Electricians are doing rough-ins on first floor south, and walls are being framed on the north wing's first and second floors and on the exterior.

Work continues to progress on the upper portions of the south wing's second-floor walls, ahead of ductwork; ductwork is being assembled.

The fire sprinkler contractor has begun to install pipe on second floor south.

Carpenters continue to install wood backing in the walls and wood at exterior openings.

A crew continues to work on enclosures in the north wing. The iron workers have  returned and are installing the lobby stair. Concrete equipment pads have been placed in the mechanical yard.

The spray foam contractor is installing membrane and foam on the east side of the building. Masons are laying brick on the east side.

Sidewalk Closures

Sidewalks at 14th and Lloyd are expected to be open the week of Nov. 19.

Sidewalks along State Street near the Science Center will be closed Nov. 16 through next week for loading of bricks and mortar onto scaffolding.

Heating Plant

Roof replacement is under way.

Barnett Center

Air handling unit installation is set to be complete the first week of December.

JFAC

JFAC's new chiller unit is being hooked up and work should be finished the week of Nov. 19.
