NSU Facilities Manager Monte Mehlhoff's campus construction update details near-completion of roof work at the Barnett Center.

Regional Science Education Center

All concrete slabs are in place. Plumbers and electricians are doing wall rough-ins on the south wing's second floor as the HVAC contractor assembles ductwork. Sheetrock hanging also has begun on the south wing's second floor.

Workers are framing interior walls on the south wing's first floor and exterior walls in the north wing, as well as the north canopy parapet.

Work is progressing on the lower portion of the north wing roof. Roof and window blocking and temporary enclosure installation continue.

The ceiling contractor has begun installing tectum panels on the second floor, south wing; and gas line installation has begun.

Barnett Center

Roof work is about 98 percent complete. Installation of new air handlers for the arena is scheduled to begin the week of Nov. 5.

Physical Plant

The new boilers are up and running in the Heating Plant, and roofing should begin next week.

A new chiller unit is set to be installed the week of Nov. 5.
