NSU Facilities Manager Monte Mehlhoff has issued a campus construction update:

Regional Science Education Center

Masons have finished cleaning and sealing burnish block walls. The steel crew continues detailing in the north wing and the greenhouse. Plumbers have completed the underground in the north wing and are continuing with slab rough-ins. They are also working on roof drains.

Electricians continue with underground and rough-in work. The concrete crew continues to prep for slabs and plans to place slab on grade in the south wing the week of Sept. 3. The framing crew is working on the south wing exterior. The utility crew is close to having the storm sewer work done from the northwest corner of the building and south; the remainder will be done in the spring.

Athletic and Recreation Fields

All trades are working diligently to finish the pavilion.

Barnett Center

The lower roofs are 95 percent complete, with metal work remaining. About half the rock has been removed from the north part of the upper roof - roofing is set to begin there Sept. 10. The old air handlers will be removed Sept. 10.

Physical Plant

DA tank installation is complete. The second boiler arrived from Georgia yesterday and will be set in place Sept. 10, with piping and hookup of the two new boilers to continue and scheduled to be complete by Sept. 25.
