NSU Facilities Manager Monte Mehlhoff's campus construction update details how work has been affected by recent rains.

Regional Science Center

The concrete crew has been preparing for concrete placements, some of which rain has delayed. Electricians are installing conduit for permanent power, and to the transformer and generator. Plumbers are working on roof drains and associated piping.  Framers are framing and sheathing the south and north wings. Carpenters have started window blocking and roofers have begun their work at the south wing.

Both new boilers are in and piped and stacks are being installed. Boilers should be functioning by early next week. Roof work is scheduled to begin Oct. 1 and substantial completion is expected by Oct. 16.

Despite another week of less-than-ideal roofing weather, work has progressed. Two-thirds of the upper rock has been removed. Workers are installing new roof from north to south. Curbs arrived Saturday, were lifted onto the roof Sept. 25 and were to be installed shortly after. The new rooftop units are estimated to be delivered the week of Oct. 25.
