More than 400 individuals (students, faculty and staff) completed a recent internal communication survey. Thank you all for taking the time to provide feedback. Your input will help guide our campus communication through new and updated channels.

Below are two links. One is a summary of the survey results and the other is written results from open-ended questions.

Summary of survey results
Open-ended comments

Overall, our internal communication efforts were given good ratings by survey respondents; however, I recognize there are areas that need improving.

Just over 80 percent of you believe that a cohesive digital display network would improve campus communication. I am happy to report that Cabinet has approved such a network, bringing together our current system of TV displays around campus. These displays range from the Student Center to JFAC. More details will follow, but I believe this will help improve awareness of campus events and increase social media engagement.

Internal communication is an area that requires constant attention. We may fall short of your expectations at times and I take responsibility if that happens, but I promise to continue improving the awareness of all the great things that occur on campus and in our community.

If you have any ideas or concerns, please contact me at justin.fraase@northern.edu.

Thank you again for participating in our survey. I wish you all a great spring semester.
