ABERDEEN, S.D.  On April 27, Northern State University student-athletes teamed up with the United Way of Northeastern South Dakota to give back to Aberdeen and surrounding communities through volunteer work. Packs of Wolves got to work volunteering at 17 locations around the area.

The Wolves spent the day volunteering at various community organizations, performing tasks from cleaning to painting to yard cleanup.

Since the first Day of Champions in 2002, a total of 2,200 Northern State student-athletes have worked to give back to the Aberdeen and surround community.

Over 18 years, Day of Champions has amounted to 200 total projects, more than 16,000 volunteer hours and $200,000 worth of donated labor.
