Northern’s Entrepreneurship Certificate offers a flexible and affordable opportunity to learn to:
- Identify business and innovation opportunities
- Communicate the value of products and services to potential customers, and
- Write business plans
It's designed for aspiring and current entrepreneurs and is open to current Northern students as well as community members who are not seeking to earn a degree.
With Northern's entrepreneurship certificate, you can create and manage small business ventures that are vital to local, regional, and national economies.
Small businesses represent the majority of all firms in the United States and contribute significantly to gross domestic product and total private sector receipts. They also drive community growth through employment opportunities, personalized shopping experiences and contributions to the local economy.
CAREERS
Entrepreneurs in the following fields could benefit from this certificate: biology, biochemistry, chemistry, environmental science, music, sports marketing, fine arts, theatre, digital media and studio art.
SAMPLE PLANS OF STUDY
Northern’s students who complete the Entrepreneurship Certificate may later transition these credits into a minor or major - for example, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management with a minor in entrepreneurship.
Certificates are stand-alone programs and upon completion will be noted on the student’s transcript.
