    About The Program

    As a journalist, you’ll deliver vital information to the public using multiple channels - but always with clarity and integrity. While pre-journalism is not a major itself, we’ll match you with a degree program and the coursework required to prepare you for a career in journalism.

     

    You'll work with Northern's pre-journalism program faculty advisor to plan a personalized schedule of courses and identify a degree program that fits your area of interest, whether it's reporting, copy editing, design, publishing or marketing and sales.

    In her Spanish, linguistics, and communication classes, Tetiana (Tanya) White gives students opportunities to develop new and various lenses through which to see themselves and other cultures. She enjoys watching students gain the confidence to speak publicly and carry that skill into their future careers.
