“I was attracted to Northern because of the faculty and the size of the theatre department. Because of the size of NSU, I have gotten way more hands-on opportunities and roles that are better preparing me for a career in theatre after college. In my 3 years at Northern, I have gotten the opportunity to be involved in 13 different productions through the NSU theatre department. At a larger school, I wouldn’t have gotten nearly as many roles for my resume. Currently, we are working on a 5-person-show called Lasso of Truth which has been a very unique experience. With a smaller cast, the production process becomes much more intimate and we are able to work much more efficiently. What was really special about this production process, however, was that we got the opportunity to spend time with the playwright, Carson Kreitzer. She came up to campus for a couple of days and it was really cool getting to ask her our questions about the script in person. Many of my character’s monologues are based on her real-life experiences, so getting to talk through the significance of some of those moments really helped me develop my character.” –Morgan Wilson. Lasso of Truth is showing from February 27th—March 6th. #beNORTHERN #unleashYOURpotential #NorthernStateU
