Marlin R. Scarborough Memorial Scholarship

Summary: Applicant must be a junior with a 3.5 GPA, attending a South Dakota public institution at the time funding is received. Requires application and essay. One $1,500 scholarship.

Summary: Scholarships for military families that provides awards of $5000 for child and spousal dependents of active or activated United States military personnel during time of application to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. Applicants must be recipients of any type of Title IV federal financial aid.

Summary: The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program assists students with financial need to study or intern abroad. Applicants must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant during time of application and during term of study while abroad. Applicants must be a citizen or national of the US and be an undergraduate in good standing.

Summary: The South Dakota Bankers Foundation is awarding $2000 scholarships on behalf of Cortrust Bank. Applicants must be a South Dakota college Junior/Senior or 2nd year technical students with an expressed interest in banking/financial services.

Striving Solo Parent Scholarship

Summary: $1,000 scholarship offered to a single parent who is pursuing a college degree. Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college in the US for the Spring 2023 or Fall 2023 semester, must be a permanent resident or citizen of the US, and have  a minimum GPA of 3.0 in most recently completed semester. Requires essay of no more than 1500 words.

Summary: Applicant must either be a full-time NSU employee enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits or a member of the immediate family (spouse & children) of an NSU employee enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits, admitted to a degree seeking program with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher, completed at least 30 credits at time of application and exhibit financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. SD Soil and Water Conservation Society Scholarship

Summary: Two $1,000 scholarships area available to students who are enrolled in an agriculture or natural science conservation related field. Applicants must be willing to do 16 hours of shadowing, be an undergrad enrolled in a SD educational institution, have completed at least 1 full year in an accredited institution, have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8, been involved in extracurricular or volunteer activities, and show financial need.

Summary: Applicant must be a high school graduate residing on the Standing Rock Reservation in South Dakota and North Dakota. The applicant will need to reflect personal integrity, individual character, and demonstrate an interest in humanitarian issues. Summary: Applicants must be South Dakota students who attended an eligible higher education institution in South Dakota. Requires composite ACT score of 24 or higher, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and completion of the high school course requirements commonly known as the Regents Scholar curriculum.
