Quiet Study

The second floor has been designated for quiet study. Try out the carrels (shown above, left) upstairs on the west end by the windows.

Study Rooms

These rooms are first come/first served. Please do not leave your belongings in any of the rooms when you are not present.

Computers

The majority of the computers are scattered around the first floor. There are also four computers on the second floor near the stair railings as well as three computers on the west wall. Two computers on the first floor can be used by the public, although the NSU community has priority

 

 

Library room 213

Room 213

Room 213 is a small classroom or large group workspace. The space has screens that laptops can be plugged into or that can be controlled from a centralized teaching station. There are whiteboards throughout the space. To reserve the room, email Nancy Miller.

 

 

Exhibit space

Exhibit Space

The library hosts a variety of art exhibits throughout the year. For more information regarding artwork in the library, or to request space to exhibit your art, please submit an exhibit request.

Music Listening Room

Located on the second floor, this space provides one listening station for accessing music CDs and LPs from the library/NSU Music Department's extensive collection.

 

 

Library Room 117

Room 117

Located on the first floor (straight in, down the hall and to the left) is a room that is used for classroom and meeting space. Room 117 may be reserved through the library for use as a group study space, speech practice area, or campus meeting space. Contact Nancy Miller to reserve the room for a class.

NSU Testing Center 154A

Located on the first floor behind the study rooms is the NSU Testing Center. The center provides testing and proctoring services to NSU students, students taking classes from other colleges and universities, prospective students, and community members.

 

 

Germans from Russia Cultural Center

Germans from Russia Cultural Center

Located on the south side of the second floor, this space houses the permanent Germans from Russia Cultural Center Exhibit. The physical collection chronicles the journey to the plains of South Dakota, tells the story of what life was like for the settlers and describes their influence on the region.

 

 

NSU Innovation and Startup Center in Williams Library

Northern Innovation and Startup Center

The Northern Innovation and Startup Center works with innovators, nonprofits, and rural communities to launch tech startups and create more digital jobs in Aberdeen and northeastern South Dakota. For more information or to reserve the room, email Bea Smith.
