Stallings to deliver ‘Last Lecture’ at NSU Noon Forum

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Longtime Northern State University faculty member Dr. Teresa Stallings will speak at the NSU Noon Forum on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Northern’s Williams Library.

Stallings, who is retiring after this semester, will present “The Last Lecture I’ll Ever Give.” The event will begin at noon in the Library Round Room. Stallings, associate professor of sociology, has worked at Northern for 23 and a half years.

Usitalo to speak at Great Plains Sociological Association Annual Conference

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Dr. Steven Usitalo will speak at Wednesday evening's opening of the Great Plains Sociological Association Annual Conference on the campus of Northern State University.

Usitalo’s talk, "Roma and Racial Science (or the Fate of the Roma and Sinti Peoples during the Holocaust)," will take place at 5 p.m. in the Lincoln Gallery in NSU's Lincoln Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The Regional Science Education Center taking shape at Northern State University will be a new home for Northern’s biology and chemistry programs, offering collaborative spaces – and enough room for years to come.

The state-of-the-art center was intentionally designed for anticipated growth, said Dr. Joshua Hagen, dean of the NSU College of Arts and Sciences.

Constitution Day celebration is Monday at Northern State University

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will celebrate Constitution Day on Monday, Sept. 17.

Constitution Day is the federal observance of the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. Across the Northern campus, students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear patriotic clothing or decorate their workspaces with a patriotic theme.
