ABERDEEN, S.D. – United States Representative Dusty Johnson will speak at the grand opening event of the Northern State University Center for Public History and Civic Engagement.

Johnson will speak at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, in the Centennial Rooms of Northern’s Avera Student Center. He will discuss the importance of civic engagement and current affairs in Washington, D.C.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Dr. Amber Henderson has won a Sanford Faculty Professional Development Award for her research project, “Perceptions of Entrepreneurship: An Exploratory Study Applied to Lakota Cultures.”

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Alice Wong will deliver the 2021 Northern State University Larry and Julie Poeppel Family Common Read Lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Attendees are invited to gather in the Johnson Fine Arts Center’s Jewett Theater to listen to Wong, who will present live via Zoom. The event is free and open to the public. ASL interpreters and captioning will be provided.

14th Annual Back-to-School Workshop set for Aug. 17 at NSU

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The 14th Annual Back-to-School Workshop will take place 8 a.m.-noon Aug. 17 at the Northern State University Johnson Fine Arts Center.

The workshop will be led by Ms. Dorina Sackman-Ebuwa, who is known as "The Lab Coat Teacher" and, affectionately, “Miss Dorito” by her students from around the globe. A video greeting from Ms. Sackman-Ebuwa can be viewed here.
