The NSU Art Department's Visiting Scholar Series brings nationally and internationally recognized art scholars to work with NSU students.

The scholars' work emphasizes the important link between scholarly research and artistic practice.

 

2017-18 Visiting Scholar

The 2017 visiting scholar is Dr. Julie Harboe, a Danish/Swiss art historian, curator and critic.

 

Harboe will work with art classes at NSU for 10 days, during which she'll be part of several hands-on workshops and presentations.

 

Focused on arts practice and working in the field between art and research, Harboe has co-founded and managed an interdisciplinary art space, and developed and coordinated a unit for artistic research. Harboe is a lecturer and researcher with Future Laboratory CreaLab at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. She also is a founding member of Swiss Artistic Research Network, and served on the Executive Board of Society for Artistic Research.
