Dr. Thomas B. Rowan III has served as associate provost at Chicago State University since August 2015. In this role, he has overseen faculty administration, contract implementation, academic planning, and registrar services, while serving as a principal advisor to the provost and providing leadership for institution-wide planning and academic operations. He has also served at Chicago State University as a professor, acting dean for graduate and professional studies, director of assessment and program quality, faculty athletics representative, and chair of the Department of History, Philosophy, and Political Science. Dr. Rowan holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Chicago, an M.A. in political philosophy from the University of York in York, England, and a B.A. in political science and economics from Vanderbilt University.
