Each pre-admission requried course must be passed with a C or higher grade.

Maintain 2.700 GPA, satisfactory dispositions, and successful field experience completion.

Students are responsible for tracking requirements, meeting deadlines, maintaining good academic and dispositional standing, communicating appropriately, and staying informed about handbook and program requirements.

How do I register for Praxis exams?

Access the Praxis website via the Praxis link at the bottom of this page. Then create an account, or log in if you already have one, and follow the instructions to choose the exam(s) you need. Next, choose when and where you would like to take the exam(s) and proceed through the payment process. NOTE: Ensure that you select both NSU and the SD DOE (if not added by default) to receive your scores. Failing to do so will result in additional costs and score report delays.

Admission Types

What is provisional admission?

Temporary admission pending final EPSY 302 and EPSY 296 grades when all other requirements have been met.

What is conditional admission?

Can transfer students apply for conditional admission differently?

Transfer students may be considered for conditional admission even if the full Praxis CORE is missing, if all other admission requirements are met. They must complete the CORE requirements by the end of the conditional term. Verify final wording before publishing.

Students may reapply for regular admission once all regular admission requirements are met. Conditional admission is limited to one term and may not be granted more than once.
