Evaluation & Scoring

What are dispositions?: Professional behaviors and attitudes. See rubric appendix to Teacher Education Program Handbook for disposition categories, indicators, and scoring descriptions.
How are dispositions evaluated?: Dispositions are evaluated by faculty using the dispositions rubric at midpoint and end of term in most education courses.
What happens if I receive a low disposition score?: Low disposition scores may lead to faculty or advisor follow-up, additional support, remediation, or referral to the Teacher Education Council dispositions review process. Any notification of dispostional concerns requires student acknowledgement.

Who reviews disposition concerns?: Disposition concerns will be reviewed by the Director of Professional Prepartion, program faculty and, when needed, by the Teacher Education Council Dispositions Subcommittee.
What is a Plan for Success?: A Plan for Success is a structured support plan used when a candidate needs clear guidance, expectations, and support for improvement in teaching, professionalism, or program expectations.
Can I be removed from the program because of dispositions?: Yes. Serious or repeated disposition concerns may affect field experience eligibility, program standing, and/or continuation in the Teacher Education Program.
