What Other Courses Can I Take?
Once you've successfully completed the college prep courses, you can take select college-level courses - still free of charge!
Enroll in English 101 (ENGL 101) – if you satisfactorily complete English 33 (ENGL 033)
Enroll in Math 103 (MATH 103) or Math 114 (MATH 114) – to pass, you will need a grade of C or better.
How to qualify for the College Prep Program
To qualify, you must:
- Be a South Dakota high school junior or senior
- Eligible for or receiving free/reduced school lunch
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.25 or higher
You must also meet one or more of the requirements below:
To enroll in Reading for College Success (READ 041):
- ACT reading score 15 or below
- Accuplacer score 199 or below
To enroll in Basic Writing (ENGL 033):
- ACT English score 17 or below
- Accuplacer score 262 or below
- Smarter Balance score 2582 or below
To enroll in Pre-College Algebra (MATH 095):
- ACT math score 18 or below
- Math Index of 950 or below
