ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Foundation will hold on-campus interviews for the finalists for the position of President and CEO.

Robert J. Machovsky will visit the NSU campus on May 3, and Zach Flakus will visit Northern’s campus on May 4.

Machovsky is currently Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Gifts at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. His previous work experience includes serving as Manager of Annual Giving at Northeast Missouri State, Manager of Annual Giving at Missouri University of Science and Technology, Assistant Director of Annual Giving at the University of South Dakota Foundation, and Program Manager for the University of Michigan Foundation.

Machovsky received his bachelor’s degree from USD, his master’s from Northwest Missouri State and Ph.D. from the University of Missouri.

Flakus is currently General Manager of Jackrabbit Sport Properties (South Dakota State University) for Learfield/IMG College, in Brookings. His previous work experience includes serving as Deputy Director of Athletics for Northern State University, Director of Athletic Development/Associate Athletic Director for the Northern State University Foundation, and Associate Director of Alumni Services for the NSU Foundation.

Flakus received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from NSU.

While on the NSU campus, each finalist will meet with various campus community members throughout the day. Open forums are also planned for each candidate as follows:

  • Machovsky Community Forum: 4:15-5 p.m. May 3, Avera Student Center Centennial Rooms
  • Flakus Community Forum: 4:15-5 p.m. May 4, Avera Student Center Centennial Rooms

Former NSU Foundation President and CEO Todd Jordre retired earlier this month after serving in the role since 2004.
