Wolf Talk with Petr Ludwig

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University is presenting Wolf Talks in conjunction with the 2019 NSU Larry and Julie Poeppel Family Common Read Lecture.

The next Wolf Talk, “Overcoming Barriers to Productivity” with Petr Ludwig, will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Jewett Theater. The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the NSU Honors Program and held in partnership with trio Student Support Services.

The following Wolf Talks are also scheduled:

Nov. 6: Managing Distractions with Dr. Erin Haugen, 6:30 p.m., Krikac Auditorium  (sponsored by NSU Athletics)

The 2019 NSU Larry and Julie Poeppel Family Common Read Lecture will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Johnson Fine Arts Center. Author Manoush Zomorodi will discuss “Bored and Brilliant: How Spacing Out Can Unlock Your Most Productive and Creative Self.” The lecture is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. Zomorodi will speak for about 50 minutes, take questions from the audience, and then sign copies of her book. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

“Bored and Brilliant” explores the connection between boredom and original thinking and considers how we can harness boredom’s hidden benefits to become our most productive and creative selves without totally abandoning our gadgets in the process. The book is available at the NSU Wolf Shoppe.
