ABERDEEN, S.D. -  Northern State University senior Zack North of Huron will present research at the State Capitol in Pierre on Feb. 26.

North was chosen to represent Northern State University and will present his own research project, titled “Public History in Action: Preserving the Story of NSU Fine Arts,” to the greater legislative community.

North is one of twelve students recognized as outstanding undergraduate student researchers who will present at the Capitol on Feb. 26.

“These 12 represent students statewide who conduct research in a variety of disciplines. Now in its 21st year, the event showcases research and creative activities of undergraduate students, as well as highlights successful faculty research and commercialization efforts. The session is organized by the South Dakota Board of Regents and South Dakota's Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR),” mentioned the South Dakota Board of Regents in a press release that was sent out on Feb. 22.

North’s advisors for his research include Ms. Sarah Jones, NSU librarian/archivist, and Dr. David Grettler, NSU professor of history.

The 2018 Student Research Poster Session runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, in the State Capitol Rotunda.
