Thunder the Wolf waving during a past parade

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The deadline to register for the 2021 Northern State University Gypsy Day Parade is 5 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 24.

Parade entrants may register online at this link for the parade, set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, on Aberdeen’s Main Street.

This year’s theme is “Wolves of the Galaxy.” Entrants will decorate their float based on the theme, and a panel of judges comprised of Northern and community leaders will present awards in various categories.

The week’s festivities will also include coronation of a queen and marshal, followed by a bonfire bash. This year, the annual football game will be played in the brand new Dacotah Bank Stadium, part of the Regional Sports Complex that opened this fall on the NSU campus.
