ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will host a free Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp for area teens this summer—and Northern is hiring peer mentors to work with youth at the camp.
The Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp, open to students entering grades 9-12 in fall 2023, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The camp will run for five weeks, starting May 30 and running through June 27, on the NSU campus.
Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of classroom and outdoor activities centered around technology, coding and entrepreneurship. Each day will be themed, such as "Tech in Science," “The Future of AI,” "Digital Media and Video Production" and "Athletics and Modern Tech," to provide a well-rounded, diverse experience for all participants.
The Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp is sponsored by the NSU Office of Innovator Empowerment. Students can register for the camp here.
Peer Mentors Needed
Northern will also be hiring Summer Camp Peer Mentors for the Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp. Working with Northern employees, peer mentors will assist and participate in classroom activities and guide camp participants in all aspects of the program including in the classroom, around campus, in dining facilities, during social activities, and on field trips.
