ABERDEEN, S.D. –  Northern State University School of Business’ Dr. Kalyan Chakraborty was recently chosen as the recipient of the 2018 Atlantic Economic Journal’s (AEJ) Best Article Award for his article, titled “Measuring the Impact of Socio-Economic Factors on School Efficiency in Australia.”

Chakraborty, NSU associate professor of economics, will receive the award at the International Atlantic Economic Society (IAES) conference, which will take place Oct. 11-14 in New York City. His award includes a plaque and waiver of conference registration fees.

Chakraborty’s article was first published in the June 2017 issue of AEJ. The article examines the productive efficiency of government schools in New South Wales, Australia.

While in New York, Chakraborty will also present his most recent research paper, titled “Economic Impact of Hurricane in the United States – A Review,” at the International Academy of Business and Economics New York Conference, which will be held Oct. 11-13. His paper will also be published in the Journal of International Business and Economics in the near future.
