Lysbeth Benkert book cover

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Dr. Lysbeth Benkert has published a book of poetry.

The book, titled “#girl stuff,” is published by Dancing Girl Press. It contains poems that center around how women often define themselves or adapt their self-identities in positive–and sometimes not-so-positive—ways through their relationships: as mothers, daughters, wives or girlfriends.

Benkert, professor of English, has been teaching at Northern since 1995. Her work has appeared in “Pasque Petals” and “One Sentence Poems,” and it will soon show up in “Rogue Agent” and the 2018 “Scurfpea Press Anthology.”

Benkert’s book is available for purchase on the Dancing Girl Press’ online shop.
