Having strong emotional wellness can help determine how students are able to cope with emotions and daily life situations. Northern has resources to help students adapt to stressors that college students face.

The Counseling Services department provides confidential individual and group counseling sessions to help students manage issues such as:

  • academic stress
  • mood disorders
  • relationship concerns
  • adjustment to college life

They also offer specialized programming for stress management and suicide prevention, including the QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training.

Counseling Services is located in the Student Center and offers appointments both in-person and via telehealth. You can learn more or schedule an appointment here.
