“I was attracted to Northern because it was a university where I could play baseball as well as pursue a degree in professional accounting. What I didn’t know when I enrolled was how wonderful all of the professors would be. They are all so personable and I feel like they genuinely want me to succeed. They’ve not only been supportive of me in my role as a student, but in my role as an athlete as well. At Northern I have also had more opportunities than I could have imagined. Last summer I had the honor of attending the Deloitte National Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas. Deloitte is the biggest accounting firm in the world, so this was a very exciting experience for me. After this conference, I was offered an internship with Deloitte in the tax department for this coming summer. Now, I am already building connections that I will be able to use in the real world after I graduate next year.” – Ben Carolin, Grand Forks, N.D. #beNORTHERN #unleashYOURpotential #NorthernStateU #GoWolves
I received my B.B.A. in business administration from Iowa State University and my M.A. in English from University of Central Missouri. As a military spouse, I lived across the U.S., Germany, and Japan, and encourage others to explore and experience the amazing world around them. I thoroughly enjoy helping students discover and plan for their futures: to see them grow into confident, always-learning Wolves!
