The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) track is a five-semester program offered at the NSU campus in Aberdeen SD. This is a traditional track program with admission to the major occurring on a yearly basis. Additionally, our program offers opportunities for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to advance their careers by taking courses designed to bridge the gap towards becoming a Registered Nurse (RN). Foundational courses are required to prepare the student for success within the major. Students complete 120 credit hours to obtain their bachelor’s degree, with 60 credits of prerequisite and general coursework and 60 credit hours in nursing coursework. Delivery of nursing courses will include both theory and clinical experiences. Opportunities for Hyflex delivery of some theory content might include face-to-face modalities, as well as asynchronous and synchronous components. Students in the nursing program receive personalized attention and support, hands-on clinical and simulation experiences, and access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to equip you with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, ensuring you are well-prepared for the challenges of the healthcare environment.
